TRANSIT
INTERPRETATION (SAMPLE):
FOR FEBRUARY THROUGH
DECEMBER 2004
by Brian Habit
Jupiter opposes your Jupiter from roughly November 2003 till
September 2004.
Jupiter
represents your evolving need to grow and expand, to have a
fuller life. When Jupiter faces off with his own position in
your birth chart, your desire to live a larger, fuller life
(transiting Jupiter) stands in sharp contrast to your customary
way of going after what you want (your natal Jupiter). Something
about the way you express your self-confidence, vision, and
enthusiasm has become too limited. You’ve reached the point
where you need to think in larger terms and act in bolder ways,
but without throwing good judgment out the window in the
process. That’s what it will take if you’re going to continue
developing faith in life and in yourself.
In your
case Jupiter is passing through your 8th house of instincts.
He’s facing off with your Jupiter, which rules your 2nd house of
resources and your 11th house of goals. You can expect at least
some of this transit to come up in connection with related
areas, such as: earning, spending, and other financial matters;
self-confidence and sexuality or other close involvements with
others; political support (or lack thereof) from others, group
pursuits, organizational activities.
If you
make the worst of this transit, then you act foolishly or let
your disappointment get the best of you.
Maybe you act in a bold way, getting yourself into a high-risk
situation, only to regret it later when it blows up in your
face. In other words, you “go for it,” taking an unnecessary
risk and you to regret it. Another possibility is that you
ignore your better judgment and take an unwise risk. Even though
your past experience might have suggested that someone else is
trouble, you make yourself unnecessarily vulnerable to him or
her. Perhaps you go “from the frying pan into the fire”: you
extricate yourself from one unpleasant situation, only to get
yourself into an even worse situation by doing so.
Maybe you try to get your kicks by acting in a way that harms
others. Even if you get away with it now, it may trip you up
eventually. For example, if you’re ostensibly committed to an
exclusive romantic relationship with one person, maybe you go
out with a third person, and people end up getting hurt. If you
want to be with someone romantically, but a third party seems to
stand in your way, then you might brazenly lash out at that
person.
Jupiter insists on looking at life as being a cup that’s
half-full and getting fuller, but the real world doesn’t always
support such a perception. Another way you could trip yourself
up now would be by boldly going after something that you want,
and then letting yourself become demoralized when the risk
doesn’t pay off.
If you
make the best of this transit, then you hang tough. Even if you
run into some dark cloud, you appreciate whatever silver lining
comes with it. For example, when confronted by some adversity,
you might develop
a greater appreciation for whatever gives your life a sense of
meaning, such as your relationships with those who are nearest
and dearest to you. Maybe you free yourself--or someone or
something else frees you--from an unsatisfying situation. Even
though the process of liberation may be quite unpleasant, in the
long run it’s still worth it. It allows you the opportunity to
pursue a more satisfying situation elsewhere.
Another way to put this time to good use would be by willingly
extend yourself, by doing something very kind for someone who’s
important to you. Now, don’t foolishly overextend yourself to do
it. Don’t expose yourself to any unreasonable risk, but if
helping out would mean acting on some value or principle that
you strongly believe in, then it might be worth it—even if it
comes at some cost to you.
When Jupiter opposes your Jupiter, it’s not necessarily a
spiritually challenging time. In fact, people sometimes have
peak experiences during this transit. The experiences are often
connected with some Jupiterian subject—things like big business,
higher education, sports, travel, legal affairs, or activities
that include an element of showmanship or grandeur. People find
themselves “at the top of their game.” They perform superbly and
receiving accolades for it. It’s a time of popularity. They get
a vote of confidence for what they’ve done.
To increase your chances of having such a peak experience, look
for opportunities to apply your abilities in a new way. If
you’ve already engaged in an activity, and you’d like to extend
it into a new role or a new arena, think about how you might do
that. Aim to do more with what you’ve got to offer. For example,
if you know something, teach it to others. If you already teach
it to others, then teach it on a larger scale, or travel and
teach it in various locations. By taking on some meatier role,
you could take your life to a new height in terms of earning
money, acquiring or using possession, or joining forces with
others to accomplish shared goals. Such a role could add joy to
your life. It could make your life richer and fuller.
