Happy birthday to those of you who are Pisces, Aries, or Taurus, or Gemini!

On March 4, energetic Mars bursts into Capricorn and your 2nd house of resources.

From then until April 21, fight for what you want, when it comes to earning or spending money, managing your finances in general, developing a stronger sense of self-worth, or applying your personal strengths productively. Choose carefully which battles you are going to fight and which battles you are not going to fight.  

In early January, Mars moved through the 1st house of your chart. That marked a time to take your tentative first steps, in a new 22-month cycle of developing your will. You may not have realized just what process it was that you were starting in the past couple of months. You may still not know. You may not see appreciate it until you have the perspective that time and hindsight allows. Nonetheless, you are moving through a process, and as of this month, you’re moving into the second stage of this process.

While Mars tromps through your 2nd house, it’s time to follow through on what you started by accumulating inner and outer resources that will support your efforts. It’s normal at this point to want to go back to “the way things used to be,” but there’s no going back now. You can stop in your tracks or you can move forward, but going back to what you pursued in the previous 22-month cycle is not on the cosmic menu.

And it’s just as well. With Sagittarius rising, you need to break new ground. You need to stretch yourself continually. You need to take bold risks and make leaps of faith in order to move through the world with grace, comfort and ease. You’re an explorer of life and, yes, it’s OK even for explorers of life to feel shaky in the knees every now and then. What’s not OK is if you give in to your doubts, pack up your bags, and go home. If you do that, then you’ll miss out on the next great adventure, and you need a steady diet of adventures if you’re really going to thrive.

Martian energy is impulsive, fitful energy, and while Mars barrels through your 2nd house, you may be tempted to burn through money as if there were no tomorrow. It’s easy for Sagittarius to take a cavalier attitude about life’s mundane practical details when there’s a high-minded and high-spirited vision to pursue. If you’d just as soon not look at your cash flow, or the state of your worldly possessions, or even the state of your self-esteem right now, then consider it a sign that you need to take a long hard look at something in that department.

That doesn’t mean that you’ll necessarily learn bad news if you read the writing on the wall. In fact, you could make an exciting breakthrough now in connection with the things that you call your own.

If you confront your fear about what you have to offer, you could develop a sturdier, more realistic appreciation for exactly what you do have going for you. If you take the initiative to improve your income, then you could bring in a larger haul than you thought possible. If you have possessions or abilities that have been going to waste, and you put them to use, again, you could do more than you imagined.

Whatever steps you take concerning your resources, act today with an eye toward what you want to accomplish tomorrow, and you’ll profit in the bargain.
