HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF MY
FORECASTS FOR ASCENDANTS
Read my forecasts for
Ascendants.

March 22, 2003
My
forecasts for the various rising signs (also known as Ascendants)
have significant limitations. They’re not intended to be
perfectly accurate, and they’re not perfectly applicable to you,
your astrological birth chart, or your life.
However, that
does not mean that you cannot benefit from them. In fact, you can
get something useful out of them.
How much
you get out of them depends on how much you’re willing to put into
them. (Of course, you can always skip reading them completely.
That's the least hassle, but it also means you won't get anything
out of them.)
What you stand to get out of my forecasts depends on how much time,
effort, and money you want to invest in using them, and how much
certainty you want to gain from them.
To understand the tradeoffs involved in profiting from my forecasts,
it’s important to understand how I write them.
How I Write My Forecasts
When I
write my forecasts, I limit the number of versions that I write for
any given period of time. To be exact, I write 12 and only 12
versions (one for each rising sign or Ascendant).
In order to make this limited number of versions as relevant for as
many people as possible, I have to make some sort of assumptions
about your birth chart.
I assume
that your chart has 0 degrees of your rising sign on the Ascendant
(the beginning of your 1st house) and 0 degrees of each of the
subsequent signs on the beginning of each of the subsequent houses.
The order of the signs in the houses follows the natural order of
the signs, starting with Aries and ending with Pisces.
For example,
if you have
Sagittarius rising, then I assume that you have 0 degrees
Sagittarius rising, 0 degrees Capricorn on the beginning of your 2nd
house, and so on, for each of the 12 houses of your chart.
Based on
these assumptions, I write about how each of the planets enters one
particular house in your chart as it enters one particular sign.
I write about how each planet continues to move through a particular
house as it continues to pass through a particular sign. I write
about how each planet leaves one particular house as it moves out of
one particular sign.
For example,
Uranus left Aquarius and entered Pisces (in other words, he reached
0 degrees Pisces) on March 10, 2003. Since he changed signs, I wrote
about this in my forecasts. I wrote about it largely in terms of
whichever house Uranus occupies in your birth chart.
How to Get the Most Out of My Forecasts
If you want
to make my general forecasts as applicable as possible for you
specifically, then you will have to combine parts of various
forecasts in order to do it. You will also have to adjust the
dates that I mention for when specific planets enter or leave
particular houses in your chart.
This method of
using my forecasts can be challenging and time-consuming. It
sounds complicated when you first read about how to do it. It takes
time and effort to understand it, and it takes time and effort to
learn how to apply it.
However, if
you practice using this method, you may soon find that it takes
relatively little time and effort to apply it, given what you can
gain from doing it.
Read on to
learn more about this method.
Would you
rather cut to the chase? Do you want to skip this method and know a
quicker, easier way to use my forecasts effectively?
Then see below about four
other ways to do this.
An Example: Uranus Entering Pisces
and Your Third House
Let's say
that you want to read what I wrote about Uranus entering Pisces and
Uranus occupying a particular house. Let's also suppose that
you want whatever you read about Uranus to be relevant to your
particular birth chart. Furthermore, let's suppose that, with
respect to your birth chart (one that is based on your exact birth
time and place), Uranus is actually moving through your 3rd house.
To do this,
then, you'll need to determine which forecast discusses Uranus being
in the 3rd house.
OK, so which
forecast does that? The Capricorn forecast does.
How do you know which forecasts
does that?
Because of the assumptions that I make about your birth chart.
Remember, I
assume that your chart has 0 degrees of whichever sign comes after
your Ascendant sign (in the natural order of the signs, Aries
through Pisces) at the beginning of your 2nd house; 0 degrees of
whichever sign comes after that sign, at the beginning of your 3rd
house; and so on, for all 12 of the houses.
Given my assumption, the question becomes this: Based on this
assumption, which forecast would assume that 0 degrees Pisces is
somewhere within a person's 3rd house?
The answer:
my Capricorn forecast assumes that. Pisces is the second sign,
in the natural order of signs, after Capricorn. If 0 degrees
Capricorn is on the beginning of the 1st house (the Ascendant), then
0 Aquarius is on the beginning of the 2nd house, and 0 Pisces is on
the beginning of the 3rd house.
Now, let’s
suppose that in your particular birth chart, you have 1 degree 56
minutes Pisces on the beginning of your 4th house. If that is
the case, then based on your particular birth chart, then when
Uranus enters Pisces, he continues to move through your 3rd house.
However he does so only until April 21.
Why does Uranus move through your 3rd house only until April 21?
Because on that date, Uranus reaches 1 degree 56 minutes Pisces.
In your
chart, 1 degree 56 minutes Pisces separates the end of your 3rd
house from the beginning of your 4th house. In other words, you
have 1 degree 56 minutes (almost 2 degrees) Pisces on the beginning
of your 4th house.
Therefore,
starting April 21, what I write about Uranus in a person's 4th house
will be applicable for you. Uranus will no longer be in your 3rd
house, so what I write about that will no longer apply for you.
Starting April 21, then, you should consider what I write in the
Sagittarius forecast about Uranus being in your 4th house.
Why
Sagittarius? Because based on my assumptions, if you have
Sagittarius rising, and if Uranus is in Pisces, then Uranus is in
your 4th house.
Now, if you find all of this far too complicated to deal with, then
you have five other methods to choose from, for how to use
my forecasts.
Which method you choose depends on how much time, effort, and money
you want to put into it, and how much certainty you want to get out
of it.
Four Ways to
Invest--and Gain--Whatever You Want
Including the
method described above, you have four choices for how to get the
most out of my forecasts, or otherwise get a helpful sense of
transits to your birth chart:
METHOD
NUMBER 1: Read the
forecasts for two or three signs, and consider various parts of them
in light of your past and present experiences and your
intuition, without taking into consideration any of the above.
This takes
more time and effort, and it's less certain than using the method
described above. However, it's more helpful than reading only one
forecast, and it doesn't cost any money.
If you do
this, then read two forecasts: the forecast for your rising sign
(Ascendant) AND the forecast for whichever sign comes after your
Ascendant sign (in the natural order of the signs, Aries through
Pisces).
For example, if
you have Scorpio rising, then read the forecasts for both Scorpio
and Sagittarius.
One
forecast will talk about a particular planet being in one particular
house, while the other forecast will talk about that same planet
being in another particular house. In the Scorpio forecast, I
might say that Uranus enters the 5th house when he enters Pisces,
while in the Sagittarius forecast, I might say that Uranus enters
the 4th house.
With
respect to any given planet, one--and only one--of these, is true
for you on any given date.
How do
you know for sure which passage is true for you at any particular
time?
You can't know with certainty which of these forecast applies in
your case...unless you consider the specific positions of
your houses, in relationship to the assumptions on which I base my
forecasts.
However, by
considering both what concrete events and what your intuition
indicate to
you, it may be possible to have a reasonably accurate sense of this.
Think
about your recent experiences, in light of the two possible passages
about a particular planet. Think about your current circumstances in
light of them. Consider what your intuition tells you about which
one applies more than the other to your life.
If all of this points toward one passage or the other as applying to
you, then that is probably the case.
To determine
which passage applies concerning each of the other planets or
astrological events mentioned,
repeat this
same process.
NOTE: For a
relatively small percentage of people, it's a good idea to also read
a third forecast: the forecast for whichever sign comes two
signs after the Ascendant sign, in the natural order of the signs.
This is the case if you have any signs that are completely
contained within any single houses of your particular birthcharts.
Such signs are called "intercepted" signs.
For example,
if you have Scorpio rising and Aquarius fully contained (or intercepted) in your 3rd
house, then read the forecasts for not only Scorpio and Sagittarius
but also Capricorn.
METHOD
NUMBER 2:
Combine
parts of various forecasts and adjust the dates that I mention
for when specific planets enter or leave particular houses in your
chart.
See above for details about how to do this.
Doing this
takes even more time and effort. However, it's also more certain
than going by "feel" to determine which parts of which forecasts
apply for you, and it doesn't cost any money.
METHOD
NUMBER 3:
Have an astrologer interpret transits to your particular birth
chart, based on your specific birth date, time, city and
state/country.
This method
takes less time and effort on your part than any of the options
discussed above. It's also more certain than any of the options
discussed above. You may or may not have to pay for it, depending on
the terms you can negotiate with the astrologer.
I offer
personalized transit interpretations, based on your particular birth
information.

information about my transit interpretations.
METHOD
NUMBER 4:
Become your own astrologer. Learn to interpret transits to your own
particular birth chart.
This takes the
most time and effort of all. It may or may not cost any money,
depending on how you do it. It's also more certain than any of the
options discussed above, except having an astrologer do a
personalized transit interpretation for you.
I plan to
teach a Beginning Predictive Astrology course online starting later
this year. I will probably teach the course for the first time
starting in late May.

In The End
The choices
that you make during astrological transits affect the results that
you can expect to get out of life. Likewise, the choices that you
make in terms of using my Ascendant forecasts affect what you can
expect to get out of them.
