Starting a Website
Brian,
I launched a paralegal business
and its website, and I was wondering if it will be successful in
the long run. I hope to build it up and make a career of it, and
maybe it will be worth selling in 5-10 years.
Ideally, if
you want a venture such as a new website/business to be
successful, you would have an astrologer do an
electional
beforehand. He or she would choose a favorable date and time for
the launch, to support accomplishing whatever objectives you
have in mind. Since you have already launched the site, we’re
using astrology with hindsight. That’s not its best use, but
let’s see what we can come up with. (Click
here to see the electional chart.)
The chart
includes a number of bright spots. The Sun and Venus (ruler of
the Midheaven, representing the business) both lie in the 11th
house--a great place if you especially want the business to make
money. In addition, the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter lie in the top
half of the chart, and that’s generally helpful.
The Moon is
in Scorpio. Libra would have been better for a legal business,
but Scorpio could support doing research and dealing with other
people’s assets. The Moon is waxing, and that helps a business
grow over time.
Other
bright spots include flowing aspects that the Moon makes to
three other planets. The Moon rules the 11th house (the
business’s income), and it lies in the 3rd house (internal
communications and the public). It trines the Sun (executive
personnel). The Moon also trines Mercury, which rules the 1st
house (the company’s morale and you, its owner) and the 2nd
house (the ability to earn money) and co-rules the 10th house
(the business). Furthermore, the Moon trines Mars, which rules
the 9th house (public relations) and lies in the 7th house
(legal affairs, other organizations, and customers). These
trines provide support for the various affairs associated with
the planets involved.
My greatest
concern is that the Moon squares both Jupiter (legal matters)
and Neptune (ruling the 8th house of customers’ money). Both
Jupiter and Neptune can be overly optimistic, and Jupiter
co-rules the 7th house (competitors) and the 8th house, so
establishing the business in a competitive marketplace may prove
to be more challenging than expected. Plan carefully and
conservatively for how to accomplish this. The Moon will square
Neptune in seven degrees, so if you sell the business within the
first seven years or so, you may be disappointed with the terms
of the deal. Neptune lies in the 6th house of employees, so also
take care that anyone brought on board is trustworthy and the
business can afford to honor whatever commitments are made to
them.
In
addition, Jupiter squares the Midheaven. Therefore, caution is
also in order when it comes to collecting on accounts receivable
and settling accounts payable, so that the business doesn’t end
up being overextended.
On the whole, I think the chart shows a fair
amount of promise.
