TONY BLAIR: SPIRITUALITY IN THE  PUBLIC SPOTLIGHT

by Brian Habit

March 18, 2003

British Prime Minister Tony Blair now finds his spirituality in the public spotlight. As transiting Neptune passes over Blair's natal Moon, he can expect to experience a heightened sensitivity to life's most intangible elements. How he expresses this sensitivity in his political career, and what becomes of his career depends a lot on the choices that he makes.

Tony Blair was born on May 6, 1953 at 6:10 am, in Edinburgh, Scotland. In his birth chart, Blair has the Moon in innovative, unorthodox Aquarius in his 10th house of public pursuits.

From roughly March 2002 till March 2004, transiting Neptune is passing over his natal Moon. Blair's sense of spirituality (Neptune) has evolved to the point that it is now merging with his Moon. In other words, it is merging with instinctive craving for radically independent activity in his public pursuits. In order to continue developing his spirituality in a positive way, Blair needs to find healthy public ways to express his heightened sensitivity to life's more intangible elements--spiritual values, ideals, intuition, and imagination.

If Blair acts in escapist ways as Prime Minister (for example, by kidding himself or tried to deceive others), the he can expect to feel debilitated, demoralized, or disillusioned. His authority or reputation might dissolve into thin air. If he confuses his fears or wishful thinking with what is real, as he exercises authority over others, then he might feel vulnerable, or insecure, or victimized in very high-profile ways.

On the other hand, if Blair lets intuition guide him, then he could express his instinctive knack for original thought and action in a way that comforts and uplifts his fellow human beings or his fellow citizens. He might inspire the world with his empathetic, visionary touch. If the Prime Minister identifies more closely with whatever holds spiritual meaning for him, and he expresses his sensitivity and imagination accordingly, then he could expect to feel exhilarated and more emotionally satisfied.

The cosmos has given Blair his cue. Neptune has turned the spotlight on his lunar self-expression. The lines that he speaks, however, are his to write.
